Mr. Dresdner served on active duty and in the U.S. Army National Guard for the State of New Jersey and the District of Columbia. He is qualified to pilot the UH-60 Blackhawk and the UH-1 Iroquois army helicopters. He was an aviation air assault commander and medevac flight platoon leader. He started his military career as an enlisted artilleryman in a M109A3, 155mm, self-propelled howitzer battery.
Selected by The American Legion Department of New Jersey (doing business as The NJ American Legion), a 501(c)(19), veterans service organization in 2022, to form The New Jersey Veterans Assistance Association (NJVAA). As an affiliated entity of The NJ American Legion and a 501(c)(3), NJVAA’s mission it to obtain funding from sources that are required to make charitable contributions through 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities for tax purposes. Board member since 2022. Elected president in 2023 for a two-year term. Managing nearly $300K in assets.
Legionnaire Dresdner is currently serving as a department vice commander for the 2024-2025 term. He is also serving as District 2 committee chairperson for The NJ American Legion’s Oratorical Committee. He has served on the Morris County Committee since he became a member of the American Legion in 2011. He is a past county commander in Morris County and served as a vice commander and master-at-arms. He has been in active member at Post 279 in Lincoln Park, NJ and currently serves as its post commander.
Legionnaire Dresdner is an alumni of the National American Legion College. He completed Basic and Advanced courses at the NJ American Legion’s College, located at the New Jersey Military Academy in Sea Girt, NJ. He was recognized by the Department of New Jersey Employment & Education committee at the Department of New Jersey’s 2016 annual convention for initiating the first Stand Down in Morristown in 2012.

ON OCTOBER 8, 1975, ANDREA ENLISTED IN THE UNITED STATES WOMANS ARMY CORP (WAC). ANDREA DID HER BASIC TRAINING AT FT. MCCLELLAN, AL. AFTER BASIC TRAINING, ANDREA WAS ASSIGNED TO THE MG WILLIAM WEIGEL RESERVE CENTER IN EDISON, NJ. DURING MY TIME THERE ATTENDED VARIOUS LEADERSHIP SCHOOLS AND NCO ACADEMIES. ANDREA‘S MILITARY SPECIALITIES WERE PERSONNEL (71L) AND SUPPLY (76Y). ANDREA MAINTAINED HER STATUS FOR 21 YEARS RETIRING IN MAY 2013.
ANDREA WORKED AS AN CIVILIAN ARMY SPECIALIST IN HUMAN RESOURCES CULMINATING IN 20 YEARS OF SERVICE AND RETIRING IN 2013.
UPON RETIRING ANDREA JOINED AMERICAN LEGION POST 45 IN PERTH AMBOY, NJ. AND TRANSFERRED TO STEVENSON-D’ALESSIO AMERICAN LEGION POST 12 IN APRIL 2016. AS A MEMBER OF POST 12, ANDREA HAS HELD VARIOUS POSITIONS TO INCLUDE: ASSISTANT FINANCE OFFICER, FINANCE OFFICER AND CURRENTLY POST COMMANDER.

BIO:
Steven was born and raised in Philadelphia. He entered Active Duty in the United States Navy after graduating Saint John Neumann High School in 1989. He was stationed in Orlando, Florida and then Groton, Connecticut to complete his training. He then served onboard the U.S.S. Seahorse (SSN-669) stationed in Charleston, South Carolina as a FTG3 (SS) until November 1993 when he left Active Duty. Steven entered the United States Naval Reserve in January 1994. He served onboard the U.S.S. Monterey (CG-61), home port Mayport, Florida as a FT2 (SS) until the reserve unit was dissolved. He then continued his remaining reserve service attached to Hospital Security Group which operated out of Fort Dix.
Steven moved to New Jersey in 2001 and has worked for the Gloucester Township Public School District and the Gloucester County College in Technology. He has been in his current position as the Director of Campus Technology for the Gloucester County Special Services School District and the Gloucester County Vocational Technical School District since 2011.
Steven has been a member of The American Legion for twenty years. He joined the Pine Hill American Legion Post 286 in 2005. He has served the Post in various positions such as Commander, Adjutant, and Judge Advocate. He also served on Post committees such as: Public Relations; Boys State; House; Golf; and Fundraising. Steven has attended the New Jersey American Legion College completing Basic, Advanced, Membership, Service Officer and Club Management.
Steven has served Camden County as: Commander from 2013 -2014; Service Officer in 2011 -2012; and as a Vice Commander from 2008 -2013. He has served on the following County Committees: Americanism 2008 - 2010; Boys State 2008 -2012; Children and Youth 2009 -2013; Testimonial 2015 -2021; Camden County Veterans Advisory Committee 2008 -Present; Convention 2015 - 2019; and Liaison to the Camden County Sons of The American Legion 2008 -2013.
Steven served as the Department Commander (2022 -2023). He served as Department Vice Commander 2014 -2015. He also served as Department Executive Committeeman for Camden County (2015-2022).
He has served on various Department committees such as: Americanism 2008 -2010; Membership 2008 -2012; Retention 2014 -Present (Chairman); Boys State 2015 -Present (Trustee); Legion College 2012 -Present (Instructor and Provost); Oratorical 2016 -2021 (Chairman); Locustwood 2013 -Present (Chairman); Convention 2015 -Present; Convention Parade 2015 -Present (Vice Chairman) and on the Ad - Hoc Moving Forward Committee 2019 - Present.
He is currently serving as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Department. During the last few years, he has worked to modernize the technology around our Department.

Kerri Long is an Air Force veteran. Since joining The American Legion in 2001, Kerri has served continuously on the Executive Board of her Post Home and became an active member of the Ocean County American Legion leadership team. She has served on the New Jersey Governor’s Council for Veterans, held a position as Ocean County Vice Commander for 7 years, and assumed a role handling the social media for her Post and Ocean County American Legion as member of the Publicity Committee. She continues to seek to further the mission of The American Legion through her social media activities and to support of initiatives to benefit military and veteran families. Kerri is also a member of the American Legion Riders and the Auxiliary at Brick Memorial Post 348.
